Counterweight Hangers is a modular system for organizing everyday objects. The system functions like a scale; whether you’re grabbing your keys, glasses. or jacket, it turns every interaction into a playful exercise in equilibrium.

Ideation &
Rapid Prototyping
Early design was guided by simple questions:
What shape will the body take?
How will the hangers interface with the body?
What are some daily objects that we hang?
The earliest prototype was especially scrappy: a simple coat hanger with screws.
The final product retains a similar form with a touch of asymmetry.
Iterative Design
Countless iterations shaped each hanger.
The glasses hanger's dimensions were refined for fit most frames without sacrificing ease of use.
Many hooks pull double duty—the hoop on this hanger allows for a bell, adding a ring to each swing
3D printed threads can be especially finicky. As a core element of the product, numerous iterations were created, testing strength and print reliability.
The final design utilizes multi-entry threads, similar to a water bottle, allowing for single-handed swapping of hangers.
Feature Highlight
The mounting plate and install jig account for #6 & #8 woodscrew but existing hooks can also be used
The system has hangers specifically for notes, hats, carabiners, jackets, and glasses; however the system allows for easy customization with 2 simple dimensions
